After having TRIED Google Chrome at least 3 times and also deleting it again 3 times, now I am forced !! to have Google Chrome if I want to write a post on one of my blogs.
I am *displeased* about that!
It is quite possible that I am going to like or get used to using CHROME and if only in order use the Google Blogspot facilities, however: it does not mean at all that I am going to continue using it.
Google has been *promoting* this Chrome facility for a long time now, and until now - there was always something not right and/or conflicting with whatever else I have installed on my PC.
These softwares, by the way, are just Window7 package facilities, and a few more ESSENTIALS for me, using my computer the way that I like and suits me best.
I keep my computer and its installed software completely updated. I like my computer to be completely functional with fast easy access to websites, browsing, downloading pdf-documents, mp3's, mp4's, obviously 100% TAILORED to my likes, also my needs.
Having written all that: *all* I wanted to do really: was write a few words on this particular blog, long overdue.
That dear readers had to do with all Google Blogs blocked by the Turkish Government since late last year (2010) which does not encourage me to write spontaneously - enthousiastically.
Here in my neck of the woods, still with brilliant sunshine late October, the season has come to the end. No more local transport to my home beach Gemiler, only taxis or as a 2-legged prowler to get there, even for a spartanic quick dip in the Mediterranean.
My next-door neighbours are repairing a partitioning ancient rock wall, and as soon as that is finished: on my side, right next to my sunshine terrass a better septic tank shall be built, hooray.
One German resident here is now in Germany having another toe amputated. Whether that shall solve his circulatory dysfunctions, I fear no. But: he has 8 more toes to go or walk with.
I registered myself with Facebook! NOT because I like it or want it, my grandchildren use it daily. I tried them to write emails to me, get themselves on SKYPE-SKYPE, for really f*ree telephone conversations, but without result. So I said: OK, if you cannot beat them, then you have to join them. They accepted me as *friend* and I shall need to spend more time to get my Facebook presence properly filled out. Da*mn I said, this takes time! And on several occasions some of the Facebook facilities to *save* did not work.
I am used I am telling FACEBOOK here - to websites with facilities that function 100%.

P.S. I am VERY PLEASED though that on 1st November - All Saints Day, I shall have my PASSPORT back from the Turkish foreign police together with my updated RESIDENCE PERMIT, as a Dutch citizen.
This time around instead of €425 per year, due to the Dutch and Turkish Government being on friendlier terms apparently: €60 only per year, which made me decide AT LAST to go for 4 years, i.e. the duration of my Dutch passport.

Whilst adding some gadgets, links to this BLOG: the question still is: will Google be so *benign* and publish news about GEMILER Beach?
Or do I have to write *an open letter* addressing a well-known person Google does acknowledge?
Meanwhile: It is not even up in the search engine(s) yet.
Note: I wrote something already on different blogs, links right below the main picture of Kaya Köyü, that has been published, but as I mentioned: only found if you type my full name as the keyword.
Enjoy! This, Eastermonday, your day, your holiday and do come to visit us, if not this year than next year.

Gemiler Beach - Kaya Koyu - Fethiye - TURKEY

A Peaceful Sunny Daily Impression of GEMILER Beach
_______________________________________
April 2010, Kaya Köyü - Easter Sunday
Gemiler Beach is the beach which is *part of* the valley KAYA KÖYÜ.
Arriving either direct from Fethiye, or the so-called English village (Hısonaru), at the small round-about, also the meeting place of the mostly male villagers there is only 1 road left that continues taking you all the way - down - to Gemiler Beach. It is the Kınallı-Gemiler Caddısı.
On other words: Gemiler Beach is easy to find, also easy to get to these days, and absolutely a lovely peaceful place to spend one or more days, relaxing in the sun, swimming - even all the way to Gemiler Island (also called St. Nicholas Island).
The Muhtar of Kaya Köyü - Mustafa Karaköz - since his election in April 2009 is also responsible
for the *well-being* of Gemiler Beach, which entails: cleanliness, garbage facilities, clean toilets with flushing water and some small restaurants.
Gemiler Beach has a long rather colourful history, nothing to do with tourism, local folklore if you like, and it really took a bit of time before they began to accept that WE - tourists - do like some comforts and other facilities we have grown used to, since World War 2 to go back a bit in history.
Why? Well people tend to overlook certain issues they most likely would be prepared to accept, going to a beach in their own country for the day.
And I am weiting about it, because only a few days ago, searching for Gemiler Beach (in the search engines), I found one website with some English folks, commenting on Gemiler Beach and in an extremely negative way.
At that moment, without the Gemiler Beach as part of my own ONLINE business & profile, I decided to use a few available online facilities, in order to bring Gemiler Beach to the attention of holidayers visiting this part of the world, and of Turkey.
Lets see, I decided what the search engines, specially Google come up with, whilst indexing and having it available in their search engine, so firstly I wrote a bit about Gemiler Beach through a favourite sire of mine, that uploads everything I add perfectly well, however my blog there is named Willy Holmes-Spoelder.
That of course is me, my first name, my surname, my profile and fairly recent photograph, taken 6/2008.
This morning I checked the Google search engine: indeed Willy Holmes-Spoelder at profile.typepad.com/emofreeze: top of the list with an article about Gemiler Beach. BUT - !! - no-one looking for information about Gemiler Beach, Kaya Koy, Hisaronu, Oludeniz, holidays-in-South-Turkey could find it, unless they would know me and the name of that particular blog.
So: for the moment: I am on a test run, aiming for GEMILER BEACH to appear in the search engines, and another blog in my BLOGGER stable, BLOGGER provided by Google, seemed to be the next thing to do for me.
Note 1.: If it works: than I have achieved a small *success* and everyone looking for the best, even most un-biased information they shall ever find, can than do some research, read my words before they arrive here.
Note 2.: I live here, you see !! I arrived here (casually) in 1991/92, and between then and NOW,
4th April, 2010 - well you guessed right: quite a lot happened, the good, the bad, the ugly.
Having pre-holiday awareness could save you lots and lots.
My experiences, so-to-say *archived* in my memory-bank, however NEVER history/done-with when it comes to dealing with what usually goes on during particularly *the holiday season*, can be retrieved.
Why not!! It really offended ME, even if some and all of it would be true, to read the terribly negative comments of some English tourists which happened to them 5 !! yes 5 full years ago.
That: never!! What these tourists wanted to put up online, left there to read for others, of course forming their own (negative) opinion, based on information FIVE YEARS OLD:
JUST IS NOT FAIR

P.s. Anyone interested can reach me at: emofree.ws@gmail.com
I am just a resident of this beautiful valley Kaya Köyü and have lived here throughout the
year since 1996.
I am able to provide some useful information, but the locals know more than I
do, however do not work with a computer as I can do.
Their command of the English language and some experience to do a bit of Online
Marketing & Promotion (globally even) does not (yet) exist, and they cannot afford to
hire a team of experts to set themselves up online.

My contribution at and for the moment is: if I can just *help my friends* here a little already NOW, April 2010 than at least that is better than they have it.
